August 18, 2011 7:39 am

Hello again! Apologies for the delays. Stuff is coming in, we promise. Chalk it up to the summer doldrums. But we do have a new film in out Indies Showcase section: “Camp Fear,” by the award-winning, New Zealand-based animation company Mukpuddy!

Please check it out! To learn about the creators, visit their site here: www.mukpuddy.com!

In other news, Suzanne Kasch has also designed a beautiful Facebook tab for our Indies Page over here: https://www.facebook.com/KaboingTV?sk=app_225736117452679, so you can watch it while chatting with friends or updating your status. We’re looking to get ourselves a Google Plus page as soon as they start taking in businesses and organizations. We’re in talks with various, potential partners to try and develop more original content as well. More on that in time.

But for now, please enjoy “Camp Fear!”

June 1, 2011 – Followup

May 31, 2011 9:10 pm

Hey everyone, just a quick follow up from yesterday’s post.

The submissions page is now finished. We’ve added a few graphics as a testing point to see how they work with the flow of the site. We’ll be adding more to give off more of a cartoony flair to everything. I want to thank artist and good friend of mine Ronnie Marion for the template design of those graphics.

Secondly, the livestream mistake wasn’t our only error. We had a mix up over Twitter accounts as well. Just so everyone knows now, Joe Murray’s Twitter account is here: http://twitter.com/jmurraystudio. The old name, joemurrarystudio, will no longer be active soon. Please be sure to follow the correct name. Speaking of which, Joe has a brand new site design here: http://joemurraystudio.com/ and is starting up a new animated comic idea called Heds! Please check it out and let him know what you think in the comments section and/or on Twitter!

Next up will be app and convention details. We’ll also look to fixing out donation link! Please stay tuned. As always, let us know if there are any questions or comments on your mind.

May 31, 2011 – Holiday and Updates

May 30, 2011 6:38 pm

Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend!

We’ve been busy updating and implementing some of the features we’ve discuss on our livestream session on Friday. I want to thank Suzanne for helping out (and she has been also making improvements on our Facebook page! Check them out!) Speaking of which, we have indeed solved the issue with the mysterious livestream “kaboingtv” name – fan and supporter Dai Kun had reserved it for us, and we now will be using www.livestream.com/kaboingtv for the official Livestream page. The recent one we’ve created, www.livestream.com/kaboing_tv will be up for another month or so, in case people want to watch the recorded version of what we’ve done. We want to thank Dai Kun for reserving the URL and allowing us to utilize it.

If people out there have ideas of sites and the like to reserve for us, please let us know! We’ll look into exploring them and see if they fit our current approach. Assistance from all our fans and supporters will be greatly appreciated! (FYI, we do have an app in the works. More on this later!)

As for the site – we have updated the Contact/Submissions link. There is a much more detailed write-up on what we would expect from submissions, and we separated contact emails for specific inquiries. Our next move is to plan for next year’s convention circuit, and cull through some more submission ideas. We shall keep you posted, of course.

Any concerns or questions, please leave a comment or send us an email!

May 26, 2011 – Update, And Livestream Testing

May 26, 2011 1:24 pm

Hello everyone! This is Kevin.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes doing a bit of planning and discussing, which is why there hasn’t been much in updates. But we’re hoping to get a lot more frequent with changes and additions pretty soon. And we need your help!

Tomorrow evening, (Friday, May 27th) at 8PM Eastern/5PM Pacific, we’re hosting a beta testing session of livestream here: http://www.kaboingtv.com/livestream/. Or, you can watch the main KaboingTV livestream at http://www.livestream.com/kaboing_tv. [EDIT: PLEASE NOTE: There is another KaboingTV streaming page that doesn't include the underscore character. We are not in control of that page but we have been contacted by the owner of the page. We hope to have that as an official page soon. But the official page is linked here. Thanks to Dai Kun for reserving this page for Joe! Sorry for the misunderstanding.]

During this session we’ll be laying out the procedure for future submissions to the site, in the hopes of getting feedback, comments, and suggestions. We’re also testing the streaming session itself, audio/video capabilities, so we can in time broadcast works-in-progress and other behind the scene stuff. We’re hoping that once we get enough content, creators, artists, animators will be able to broadcast their own works as well. There are bound to be errors and mistakes and things of that nature, but that should be corrected in time. We’ll also be discussing future conventions and festivals, as well some of the features we wish to add to the site.

We want to to it live for immediate feedback as well as showcase our willingness to be more transparent than most sites. I will mention that I am hosting this session, but Joe is both aware of the session and, hopefully, will be watching it as well. We all know he is very busy.

So I hope to see you there! Any questions or concerns, leave them in the comments section.
